Gratitude is more than just saying I am grateful, gratitude is a feeling.
Feeling in your heart and soul how truly lucky you are for where you are at in your life.
Regardless of where you are, maybe you aren't exactly where you want to be. It is important to look at what you do have because I can guarantee that there is someone out there who is dreaming about what you have.
Why is it important on your spiritual journey to express gratitude?
Being content and happy with where you are at this point in time. Loving the season you are in is what brings more of that joyous feeling into your life. Practicing gratitude allows you to centre yourself and look at each day for the positive it has brought you.
How to practice gratitude?
There are so many ways to practice gratitude, let me tell you about how I go about it!
Every night I sit down with my journal and I mentally go through my day. I start at the beginning usually with my coffee.
"I am so grateful for my morning coffee it makes me feel warm and happy, like I'm ready to take on the day"
I continue on like this, pointing out specific things throughout my day that brought me joy, acknowledging them.
Doing this makes me realize how blessed I am and how much I have in my life. It brings you back to yourself and allows you to be happy with what you have right now instead of waiting for whats to come.
